General Telecom Implements Web-Based Billing Solution for Partition Clients
OAKLAND, CA –November 10, 2004 -- Switch Management Corporation, a leading OSS software provider to the telecommunications industry, has released WebCDR Private Label, the latest version of the company’s award-winning web-based carrier billing solution that enables carriers to brand the system as their own. General Telecom, a subsidiary of New Global Telecom (NGT), and a leading provider of outsourced network management services in the US, has implemented the solution, rebranded TrafficVision, for its switch partitioning customers.
WebCDR Private Label is a 100% web-based carrier billing service that features automated CDR collection, rating, reporting, and bill presentment -- all via the Internet. Typical implementation time is between 24-48 hours.
Adam Nathanson, Switch Management’s CEO, explains, “With WebCDR Private Label, resellers like General Telecom can differentiate themselves in the marketplace by offering a complete, company-branded billing service to their customers. By adopting WebCDR Private Label, partitioners and hardware vendors can offer a turn-key switching solution, thereby avoiding protracted sales cycles that invariably result when clients must procure their own billing system. Additionally, because WebCDR is the industry’s most established ASP billing solution, they can rest assured that their customers are utilizing a robust, stable, and mature platform.”
General Telecom, WebCDR Private Label’s largest customer to date, currently switches in excess of 3 billion TDM and VoIP minutes per year on behalf of its 40-50 carrier clients. Lee Story, senior vice president of Network Management Services for General Telecom, says, “General Telecom established itself by providing ubiquitous access to proprietary ‘big-iron’ capability in the past, but the new model for outsourced services, the model driven by VoIP, is about flexibility and bringing quality alternatives to our customers to match their unique business needs. WebCDR brings a flexible, robust and reliable component to complement our services, and using it since August has proved it integrates well and is performing great. Customers value the ability to enter rates and costs into the WebCDR interface to run the critical reports for managing a wholesale business in the market today.”
